My high school graduating class of 1997...
I can hardly believe it! My 10-year class reunion is just around the corner. It is just 2 months away...
I don't quite know what to think about it. My graduating class was a pretty tight knit group, and many of us have kept in touch over the years. I still don't know what to expect though because you hear all those stories...
My mom said that at hers, old-school couples were hooking up, and that it was a pretty dangerous atmosphere. I don't expect anything like that, but what DO you expect? I imagine it can be a pretty awkward thing for the spouses as well. It will be interesting to see who people married, pictures of babies (although there aren't very many that I know of in our class...), what classmates look like, etc... I don't know what to wear! I mean, what DO you wear to something like this?!?
Did you go to yours? What was it like? Will you go to yours? Why or why not? Any thoughts, opinions, or stories are welcome!

I went to mine in summer of 2001. It was okay...the snobs were still kinda snobs, the country bumpkins were even more so, etc. I enjoyed seeing SOME people puff up or lose their hair because they were so stuck up, but overall, everybody was pretty much the same...I'm glad I went because I would have wondered about it. There were a lot of people who didn't come who I would have liked to see. Maybe they'll come to the 20th year class reunion---in 2011. Four years. Gulp. I need to lose some weight!
I won't go to mine for 3 reasons:
1. When I was in HS, my real friends were at church, so I really didn't get to know my school friends very well. Plus I was a loser & no one liked me.
2. JD's reunions are always really expensive, like $100/plate or something like that.
3. I still live in the town where I went to HS, so I randomly see people I went to school with at the mall, restaurants, etc.
Good luck finding something to wear! :-)
I look forward to going to mine. I've only seen a few people since we graduated, so it will be nice to catch up.
Be sure to let us know how it goes!
P.S. I hear you're moving...I will miss seeing you at Bunko!
Kristy, Thanks for commenting! I enjoyed catching up on your blog (and myspace/facebook as well). You're right--we do have a lot in common! I hope your move goes smoothly (especially for the puppy--ha).
If you go, I look forward to hearing how your reunion goes. I have to plan one next year, and I'm already stressing about it.
Again, nice to "meet" you!
Im still up in the air. we've already discussed this, but im torn. some people I would love to see, and some I could care less about. our class was super small, like 89 or something was all. so I just cant decide.
Mine is August 18th in Atlanta, and I don't think I am going to go. Since I was only there for a year, I don't didn't really keep in touch with anyone except one friend who lives here in Bham. Plus, I would have no idea what to wear since I will be at the stage where I don't yet look pregnant but rather just fat. :) Why go through the stress? :) I would LOVE to go my NJ high school reunion since I grew up with those people, but it's during Thanksgiving. That will be hard to do.
