Children's Book Recommendations, anyone?

I have a little pigtailed person who LOVES to read...

Mommy, however, is getting bored with our personal library...

So, on Day 1 of summer, we headed to the library for story time. We also checked out these:This is one I haven't bought yet because I think it will be sent to us via Cousin Dolly. But she LOVES it, and interprets it in her own words. "Llama Llama scared... Llama Llama cryin... He better... Ni-night..."She loves the pictures in this one, and she really loves the octopus, but the words are too dense, so I just make up my own story, and she commentates: "Fish sharing... He give his sparkle... It shiny... It blue one... It pink one..."

And the other was a pajama party book that goes month by month.

We own some of the classics, and as a book lover, I have a budget item for Addy-books, but I don't want to just blow it. Let me know what age-appropriate books you'd recommend!

My two-year-old LOVES the "bear" books: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See and also the ones for Baby Bear and Panda Bear.

Oh me... where do I begin? Addie mgiht like the David Shannon books that have a lot of repetitive words like "No David" and "Alice the Fairy." I also like Kevin Henkes books like "Chrysanthemum" or "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse." (By the way, I know you're not supposed to put books in quotations, but I can't figure out how to underline!)

My crew LOVES the David books! Also, we love the Brainy Baby books because they have tons of great pics, so the little kids love to get asked, "Where's the goldfish/monkey/kitty/etc." That's what I would much rather do, than read long pages and lose their attention. Also, Pinkalicious is a fav for little girls too. I'm not as crazy about Purpleicious or Goldilicous though. Just weren't as good as the first one. Chimp and Zee are fun ones too. And I'm sure you've already got, I love you stinky face, but if you don't, get it. That one is too cute.

I love-love-love Knuffle Bunny and the Pigeon Books (really, anything by Mo Willems). Corduroy by Don Freeman. You Are Special by Max Lucado (although she might be a bit young for that one). And, of course, you can't go wrong with Eric Carle or Dr. Seuss. :)
